three weeks until the popping noise started... March 27, 2008 Freccia (Arlington, VA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Don't buy this. We're lucky that we didn't have a fire. Everything fit and worked as expected for a few weeks, and then we started hearing popping and buzzing noises, and the power supply failed. A post-mortem showed that the solder had melted on the circuit board near the AC power point. I tried bending the lead to resume contact, and this held for a few days, but it melted the board again. (Note: Don't open the brick if you don't know what you're doing: there is a shock hazard) The brick does not show a UL listing (no surprise). Although several off-brand products have worked well, this is an area where you should go for a more reputable product. We purchased this item as a replacement for a HP pavillion dv6000 notebook computer, but this would have happened to any laptop. We left the computer on the desk the whole time, so movement/jostling was not a cause.
Not Satisfied and very dissappointed February 15, 2008 Victoria Vargas (Bermuda Dunes, CA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This product only worked for 3 days then I had to wiggle the cord to get it to work then it stopped working and I had to purchase another one from HP. I will never purchase from this vendor again!
